Biography

Alex Bewley joined the Mobile Robotics Group in 2016 as a postdoctoral researcher, working on applying machine learning techniques to robotic perception and planning.

Alex holds a BEng (Mechatronics) from the University of Sydney and a PhD (TBD) in Robotic and Autonomous Systems from the Queensland University of Technology. His PhD research topic was on the adaptation of vision-based detection and tracking in novel and dynamic environments with applications towards field robotics. Prior to his PhD, Alex was an automation engineer for four years at the University of Queensland working on novel sensing methodologies for improving mine site operations.

In his spare time, Alex enjoys board games and travelling.
