SRL attends Def-Robotics2022

On July 4th - 8th, Deformation in Robotics, a summer school on the topic of deformation in robotics, has been held in Lille, France (link). The principal investigator of the Soft Robotics Lab, Prof. Perla Maiolino has been invited to give a talk about her research on "Robots with a Sense of Touch". This event has also been attended by DPhil student Yao Yao, who has given a presentation on her poster "A Simulation and Optimisation Toolbox for the Design of Bellow Soft Pneumatic Actuators".

The Summer School Deformation in Robotics aims to train the next generation of researchers and engineers with lectures and sessions on the fundamental concepts, such as modelling, simulation, and control, that are necessary to use deformable materials in soft robotics, continuum robotics, hybrid rigid/deformable robotics as well as in rigid robotics interacting with a deformable environment.
