Francesco Capuano

DPhil Student - A2I & FLAIR

Francesco joined Oxford in 2025 as a DPhil student jointly supervised by Prof. Ingmar Posner at A2I and Prof. Jakob Foerster at FLAIR. His general goal is to build tools that help robots learn better from both offline and online interactions.

Before joining Oxford, Francesco spent two years in the European startup scene across Paris and Milan, as both an engineer and researcher at Hugging Face, Mistral AI, Alan and Bain & Company.

Francesco received a MSc in Applied Mathematics (MVA) from ENS Paris-Saclay, a MSc from Politecnico di Torino and a Bachelor's from Sapienza University of Rome, Italy, all summa cum laude.

Francesco is a vocal advocate for socioeconomic equality in ML, and when off the clock likes to travel to spend time with his family, or to patiently (and slowly) practice his BJJ.
