Charlotte Reed

DPhil Student - GOALS (and Physical Oceanography in Earth Sciences)

Charlotte is a student on the NERC DTP in Environmental Research and joined GOALS in 2024. She is supervised by Nick Hawes and Helen Johnson (Earth Sciences), and her research focuses on developing methods for underwater gliders to autonomously travel to and measure temperature anomalies in the North Sea.

Before joining GOALS, Charlotte completed her undergraduate degree in Mathematics and Computer Engineering at Queen's University in Kingston, Canada. Partway through her bachelor's, she interned for 1.5 years at a satellite company (GHGSat) in Montreal, Canada, working on software for measuring methane emissions from satellites.
