Ben is a Computer Science DPhil student at the University of Oxford. He is a member of the Responsible Technology Institute (RTI) and the Oxford Robotics Institute (ORI) and is supervised by Professor Marina Jirotka, Dr. Lars Kunze , and Dr. Pericle Salvini.
Ben's research focuses on the psychological safety of autonomous vehicles and specifically trust, perceived safety, regulation, and human-machine interaction. His work is at the intersection of Explainable AI, interfaces, and psychology.
Ben holds a BSc degree in Computer Science from Purdue University. He has software engineering internship experience in industry (Microsoft, General Motors, GE Aerospace) and has been an exchange student at ETH Zurich.
