Ben is a DPhil student in Engineering Science who joined the Oxford Robotics Institute (ORI) in 2025. He works within the Neural Processing Lab (PNPL) and the Applied Artificial Intelligence Lab (A2I), and is jointly supervised by Dr Oiwi Parker Jones and Professor Ingmar Posner. Ben’s research focuses on developing biologically-grounded data augmentation methods to improve generalization in speech decoding brain–computer interfaces. Before joining the ORI, Ben completed an M.Sc. in Mathematical Modelling and Scientific Computing at Oxford, where his dissertation focused on privacy-preserving generative modeling for health records. He also holds a dual undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering (BESc) and Business Administration (HBA) from Western University and the Ivey Business School in Canada.
