Biography
Aristotelis joined the Dynamic Robot Systems Group at the Oxford Robotics Institute in October 2022 as a DPhil student in Engineering Science. Under the supervision of Dr. Ioannis Havoutis, he investigates motion control algorithms that enable quadrupeds to perform dynamic motions. Towards this, he is trying to leverage both optimization-based and learning-based methods.
He holds a 5-year Diploma from the National Technical University of Athens, where he was a member of the Control Systems' Lab in the group of Prof. Evangelos Papadopoulos. There, he had the opportunity to undertake several undergraduate projects in embedded systems, communication protocols and applied control. In his diploma thesis he developed and deployed a hard real-time, distributed motion control algorithm for the lab's quadruped robot.
