Team ORIon Board Game & Pizza Night

On the 17th of November 2021, Team ORIon had its first in-person event since the start of the pandemic! Team members took a break from their busy study schedules to enjoy a relaxed evening of board games and pizzas, hosted at the Oxford Robotics Institute.

Our team members went head-to-head in some friendly board game competitions. First, our rapid spelling skills were put to the test in several fast-paced rounds of Bananagrams! Next, our super-spy abilities were tested, as we were split into two teams and pitted against each other in the classic game of espionage: Codenames. We took a break to enjoy a pizza dinner, and then wrapped up the night with several fun and wacky mini-games from the Jackbox Party Games collection.

For many team members, it was the first chance to meet each other in-person, after participating in many months of virtual team meetings. It was a great opportunity for the team to get to know each other better, bond as a collective group, and enjoy some leisure time together.

In the end, board games and pizza proved to be a winning combination - there was lots of fun, laughter, and enjoyment had by our team members! We thank the ORI for their support and funding for the event, and we look forward to having another in-person team ORIon event in the near future!
