Markus joined the ORI in 2024 as a DPhil student at the Applied Artificial Intelligence Lab (A2I), supervised by Prof. Ingmar Posner. His research focuses on causal representation learning within the context of world modelling, with the aim of learning structured, modular world models that empower robots with a physically grounded understanding of the world and enable them to act robustly. Before starting his DPhil, Markus completed an MEng in Engineering Science at the University of Oxford, and in his spare time he can be found rowing with Balliol College Boat Club, hiking, or skiing.
