We are seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Research Assistant to join the Applied Artificial Intelligence Lab, part of the Oxford Robotics Institute at the Department of Engineering Science (Oxford). The post is funded by industry and is for a fixed duration of 12 months.

The key objective of the project is to advance the state-of-the-art in human-robot mixed-initiative autonomy in manipulation tasks through a particular focus on rapid and safe real-world skill acquisition. As part of this role you will focus on the development of cutting-edge machine learning methods for robot perception and decision making with a view to enable efficient and effective learning. A particular research focus will be actionable world-models based on object-centric deep generative models.

You should have a PhD/DPhil (or near completion) in robotics with a focus on perception and/or deep generative models. You should have a strong publication record and proven software writing and debugging skills in Python and/or C++.
