Oliver joined the Oxford Robotics Institute in 2017 as a DPhil student at St Peter’s College. He holds a Diplom degree in Computer Science from Dresden University of Technology. Previously, Oliver conducted research in the fields of Computer Vision and Natural Language Processing working with Prof. Carsten Rother at the Computer Vision Lab Dresden and Prof. Fei-Fei Li at the Stanford Vision Lab. He wrote his Diplom thesis on “Visual Phrase Grounding with Variable Supervision in an EM-RNN Framework”.
His current research focuses on learning of physical properties and object affordances from visual observations, jointly supervised by Prof. Ingmar Posner and Prof. Andrea Vedaldi.
