Humans and animal can achieve extraordinary agility by dynamically walking, running and leaping over rough terrain.  In addition large parts of the outdoor as well as the built environment are only accessible with legs.

We are researching the dynamics and control principles behind robot locomotion so as to develop computationally efficient locomotion algorithms, to plan complex motions and to perceive the surroundings of our robots.
