Simona Nobili is a PhD Candidate in the School of Informatics at the University of Edinburgh. Simona joined the Oxford Robotics Institute at the University of Oxford as a visiting researcher in May 2017, where she works under the supervision of Dr. Maurice Fallon. Her research is focused on laser-based methods for localization and mapping applied to dynamic legged robots in challenging scenarios.

Simona researches for the Edinburgh-NASA Valkyrie humanoid project and collaborates with the team of researchers of the Dynamic Legged Systems Lab at IIT (Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia) on the HyQ quadruped project. She is a member of the Institute of Perception, Action and Behaviour and affiliated with the Edinburgh Centre for Robotics.

Simona received a MS Degree in Advanced Robotics from the University of Genoa (2014) and from Ecole Centrale Nantes (2015). Previously, she received a BS Degree in Electronics Engineering from the University of Genoa (2013).
