Akshay joined the Mobile Robotics Group in August 2014 .
Prior to joining the group, he completed a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of California-Riverside (UCR), where his thesis focused on autonomous control of PTZ camera networks for scene understanding. In addition, Akshay has also completed a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (UCR), a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronics Engineering (University of Mumbai, India), and a Diploma in Industrial Electronics (Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education, India).
His broad research interests include Mobile Robotics, Cooperative Control, Bayesian Optimisation, Game Theory and Computer Vision.
Projects with MRG, University of Oxford
Intelligent Camera Networks – (University of California Riverside, USA)
The focus of the research herein was the development of distributed algorithms leveraging Bayesian optimisation to control a network of PTZ surveillance cameras for scene understanding.
